The BenQ MH733 and Philips PicoPix are both great projectors. Both projectors have all of the features you need, and both are easy to use. The BenQ is slightly brighter and has more contrast, but it costs more than the Philips PicoPix. Here’s a quick comparison between these two models so that you can decide which one is right for your needs!
BenQ MH733 vs Philips PicoPix
The BenQ MH733 is the better choice.
- It has a higher resolution of 1,600 x 1,200 and a contrast ratio of 10:1 compared to Philips PicoPix’s 600 x 800 and 3:1 respectively. The BenQ MH733 also offers an enhanced color gamut coverage (88% DCI-P3) while the Philips PicoPix only covers 75%.
- The lamp life on both devices is quite similar at 5,000 hours for each unit with the exception that the BenQ has an additional hour over its predecessor due to its LED backlight technology being able to run longer without needing to be replaced.
Both projectors have a good contrast ratio and color gamut, but the BenQ MH733 has an advantage in both areas. It also has better brightness and lower black levels than the Philips PicoPix, making it easier to watch movies at night.
In terms of picture quality, both projectors look great when viewed from side angles or up close. They don’t lose detail as easily as some other models we’ve tested before; you’ll still see plenty of details whether they’re close or far away (especially if you’re sitting closer).
Philips PicoPix has a longer lamp life than BenQ MH733. That’s because Philips PicoPix uses a more efficient high-intensity lamp, which has a higher lumen output. The Philips PicoPix also has an advanced light management system that dims the projector’s lamp automatically when no image is projected onto it and turns it off completely when you’re done using it. This prevents the bulb from burning out or overheating while you’re away from home and saves energy too!
Brightness & Contrast
The BenQ MH733 has a brightness of 2000 lumens, while the Philips PicoPix is only 1000 lumens. This means that the BenQ has a brighter screen and will be more visible in direct sunlight, but it also means that you have to view your photos at an angle if you want to see them clearly. The contrast ratio on both cameras is very similar at 4000:1 (or 4 times greater than what we’d consider ideal), so they’re both great for taking photos indoors or outside with plenty of light around them.
The sound quality is not great, and you should use headphones. You can connect a soundbar to the projector, but it’s not very high quality. If you want better sound, then go ahead and get that Bluetooth speaker or something similar with enough power to fill your room with music (or at least just some good bass).
Both projectors have HDMI, VGA and USB inputs. The MH733 also has a mini-USB port for connecting to your PC and charging its battery; the Philips PicoPix only has a micro-HDMI port.
The other significant difference between these two projectors is that the Philips PicoPix has an SD card slot while the BenQ MH733 doesn’t (although it can accept cards up to 32GB).
Both projectors are great choices, but you should consider the BenQ MH733 over the Philips PicoPix.

If you are looking to buy a new projector, the BenQ MH733 is a good choice. It has many features and good picture quality. If you want something with more features or better image quality, then the Philips PicoPix is the way to go.
